Sri Lanka: The End of the Ceasefire

According to Reuters, a dispute over water supplies in the Sri Lankan town of Trincomalee has led to the first major ground fighting since 2002 between the LTTE, or Tamil Tigers, and the Sri Lankan national government. The war between the two forces has already killed tens of thousands and deeply hurt millions more over the years. I spoke to Suppiramaniam Nanthikesan, one of the co-editors of lines magazine, about the resurgent conflict and its context.
